Once Upon A Farm
Once Upon A Farm is a nonprofit community project of The Institute of Professional Practice, Inc., a human services agency.
A magical place of creativity, learning, connection,
and growth for those with special needs.
“Every time I come to work I always have a smile
on my face when I see all the animals.” Deval Little
Once Upon A Farm began with an idea and Freeway. Upon entering 200 Litchfield Turnpike in Bethany, you will see chickens wandering freely and will soon meet Freeway, an adorable Nigerian Dwarf goat who was the first animal to find a home here.
This farm is a celebration of life, in all its forms. It is run by and for people with special needs, who happily assume the responsibility of planting, harvesting, and care taking. Everyone thrives in this bucolic setting where the land is verdant, the sunflowers grow tall, the flowers are vibrant, and the animals are curious, happy and sociable.
