Behavioral Consultation Services are dedicated to
providing a continuum of care that complements
all of the changing needs of children and families.

Early Intensive Behavioral
Intervention (EIBI) Consultation Services

The EIBI program is designed
to provide a comprehensive learning experience
for young children on the autism spectrum and their families. Using the
principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Verbal Behavior (VB) and discrete
trials, the EIBI program provides a comprehensive curriculum for the child and
fosters generalization and maintenance of skills. We provide clinical oversight
and staff that work directly with the child.
In addition, the program includes training to facilitate re-integration
of the child into a typical or special education classroom and behavioral
supports for the family and community.

The Mid-Atlantic Assessment services are designed to provide a
complete evaluation and recommendations for children on the autism spectrum.
These services are a comprehensive snapshot of the childs functioning levels
and provide specific recommendations about skill areas on which treatment
programs should focus.

The Behavioral Intervention services provide a behavioral program
based on Functional Behavioral Assessments. This includes assessment, recommendations,
program development, and follow-up services in the home and school

Drs. Christine Accardo and Zbigniew Golonka are Board Certified
Behavior Analysts and are co-directors of the program. Dr. Accardo received her
Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and completed her pre-doctoral
internship at the Kennedy Kreiger Institute and Johns Hopkins Medical Center.
In the last ten years Dr. Accardo developed and provided clinical consultation
services for autism programs in Missouri and Connecticut for children ranging
in age from 2 to 11 years. Dr. Accardo has previously served as the Director of
Autism Programs in Connecticut. She was responsible for conducting assessments
and evaluations, program development, staff training, coordination of other
professional services, and participation in IEPs. Other professional
experiences include providing discrete trial instruction and behavioral
supports to children diagnosed with autism; providing psychological,
educational, and cognitive assessments to teenagers with cognitive and learning
disabilities; and providing counseling and therapy services to adolescents and
young adults. Dr. Golonka worked as a Supervisor at Children's Seashore House
(currently located at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia), and as a Supervisor
for the Neurobehavioral Stabilization Unit of Bancroft Neurohealth in New
Jersey. In the last ten years Dr. Golonka
provided consultation services on program development and evaluation,
behavioral intervention, and data collection for children with emotional and
behavioral problems in a community-based treatment center. In Connecticut, Dr. Golonka developed
behavioral interventions in schools and created innovative educational-clinical
services for intercity districts for children with autism and developmental
disabilities. He also specialized in conducting Functional Behavioral
Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Planning while servicing multiple
school districts as a behavioral consultant and an independent evaluator.
