The Institute of Professional Practice, located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, is a non-profit human services organization providing individualized consultative, educational, residential, vocational and clinical solutions for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide state of the art community based residential and day treatment programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism with associated psychiatric, neuro-psychiatric, and complex behavior disturbances.
Clinician/Behavior Analyst: Full-time - 40 hours per week. Our adult services division is seeking a Clinician/Behavior Analyst to work with individuals in a variety of residential and day/vocational settings. The person selected for this position will be responsible for conducting functional behavioral assessments; designing behavior treatment plans; training such behavior plans, and monitoring the efficacy of behavior plans via data review. IPPI values a team approach. The Clinician actively participates in clinical case reviews, ISPs and team meetings. The Clinician liaises with complementary service providers including psychiatry, neurology, and speech in the development of comprehensive treatment programs This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field to become part of a supportive team of professionals in an organization where continued education and supervision are an integral part of professional development. Clinical Coordinator: Full-time - 40 hours per week. The Massachusetts adult services division is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to work with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities who reside in a shared living environment.The person selected for this position will be responsible for the assessment, design, training, and monitoring of all behavioral interventions and will oversee all clinical interventions that include behavioral, psychiatry, neuro-psychiatry and communication. Some specific responsibilities include conducting functional behavioral assessments; designing behavior treatment plans; monitoring the efficacy of behavior plans via data review; actively participating in clinical case reviews, ISPs and team meetings; working as a liaison with psychiatry, and in some cases neurology, to implement evidence based decisions on medications; providing ongoing training to staff implementing behavior treatment plans; contributing to a multi-disciplinary team; and participating in agency committees that design and drive the mission of the organization. Part Time Behavioral Specialist - IPPI's Children's Services division is seeking part-time Behavioral Specialists to work after school and weekend hours. Positions available in the Worcester and Fitchburg areas. Responsibilities of the position include providing behavioral and educational support to a special needs child, collecting behavioral data, and helping the child participate in community inclusion activities. A Unique Role In Helping Another: Shared Living Opportunity for a person interested in supporting a 23 year old adult male with mental health issues, who is verbal, attends the IPPI Day Program and has resided in a Shared Living Placement for the last year.
- This individual requires 24/7 supervision but has the ability to achieve independent time. He is capable of completing many daily living tasks with minimal oversight and has independent self care skills, but requires verbal reminders.
- He is English speaking and will communicate his wants and needs; however he does not know how to fully express his feelings.
- He has a tendency to hold in events that make him angry.
- This individual's level of independence is dependent upon his ability to follow his daily plan.
- He enjoys fishing, music, movies, using his computer, sports, and above all running his car wash business at his Day Program. The ideal environment for him would be in a home that is not close to the city or shopping areas, perhaps on a farm. He would be best supported in a home with no children, by a single adult male or a male role model that resides in the home. He requires a person who can teach and increase his life skills.
- Attendance at scheduled appointments with his primary care physician and psychiatrist as well as other appointments as needed is required.

Human Rights Committee Volunteers: The Institute of Professional Practice, Inc. is currently searching for volunteers to serve on their Human Rights Committee. Human Rights protection is an integral part of IPPI's support of Adults with disabilities and we are currently searching for committed committee members who are by profession physicians/nurses, attorney/ law student/paralegal or licensed clinicians. Committee members review and evaluate restrictive practices within behavior plans, the use of supportive and protective devices to ensure safety and health, and review restraint data and practice. The Committee collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and influences best practices in these areas. The committee meets six times each calendar year; the third Tuesday of every other month (Jan, March, May, etc) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 pm.
