Corporate Administrative Office

Nestled in the hills of central-western Vermont, the corporate administrative headquarters of The Institute of Professional Practice, Inc. provides administrative oversight and logistical support for the multifaceted operations of the organization.

As a not-for-profit educational corporation, the Institute is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, made up of community members, as well as the Executive President and Executive Vice President. The commitment and energy of the Board of Directors guide the broader mission of the corporation, ensuring that its overall health is maintained.

Employing a team management concept, the senior officers and directors meet routinely at the corporate headquarters to coordinate activities among the states and develop common standards of practice. Management team participants include the Executive President, Executive Vice President, Vice President for Program Services, Vice President for Clinical Services, Controller, State Directors of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maryland, and the Director of Quality in Applied Clinical Practice. Unique to this organization, this management team has been a stable fixture at The Institute; seven of the ten senior managers have been with the corporation since its inception. This longstanding stability has produced continuity in philosophy, which is reflected in the high quality of services in each state, and our stable tier of middle managers is unusual in a profession where high turnover is the norm.

The corporate headquarters houses a staff of dedicated and skilled professionals, who are responsible for the administration of the complex financial management system and the management information system, including network operations. Integrated financial operations are centralized in this office to facilitate cash management strategies, and to assure required uniformity and consistency throughout the agency. The corporate office is responsible for audit and tax filings, as well as all related contractual and regulatory cost reporting. Many of the corporate office staff are long-time employees, bringing a personal commitment to The Institute’s mission.

The Vermont office is also home to several specialty programs sponsored by the Institute, including the Employee Assistance Program.

Also under the aegis of the Vermont office is a separate corporate clinical center, located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts under the direction of the Vice President for Clinical Services and the Director of Quality in Applied Clinical Practice.  Please see the Clinical Services description for more detailed information.

Employee Assistance Program

The Institute has provided an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefit to area employers for over twenty years. Through EAP an experienced counselor helps employees and/or their families address troubling situations in a confidential setting. The goals of EAP are to help employees cope with and resolve personal, family and career concerns and to help prevent these matters from affecting their employment. Typical issues that bring someone to EAP are family and parenting difficulties, problems with drugs or alcohol, compulsive gambling, anxiety and stress, depression, bereavement, workplace adjustment, and financial worries. Over the years, employers have recognized that the morale and productivity of their staff hinge on their feelings of well-being, and that personal issues impact an individual’s ability to perform effectively both on and off the job. They understand that a solid EAP program is well worth its cost. For more information about the Employee Assistance Program at the Institute, please be in touch by phone at (802) 229-9515.
